Large marketplaces, like Amazon, which expanded from a specific focus, have offered consumers an easier way to shop convenience and low cost online. However, post-pandemic, new and more sector focused marketplaces have begun taking hold, building curations around specific verticals or niches rather than just aggregating product. The Consumerist's Ross Barry asserts that the future of this space will revolve around cutting noise for the consumer and creating meaningful curation centered around community and creators.
